Do I need a passport appointment for passport renewal?


Yes. Please book your appointment here. Only the following are exempted for passport appointment: 1. Children 12 years old and below 2. Young people with disabilities (PWDs) 3. Young people with special needs 4. Visibly pregnant women or with medical certificate 5. Senior citizens (60 years and over)

What is the appointment system?


Due to the number of Passport Renewal Applications that the Embassy receives, with most applicants coming from faraway places, an appointment system for passport renewal is enforced. You may access the appointment system here.




Why can’t I book an appointment for my passport renewal?


Since slots are limited, there may be instances when attempts in getting an appointment may not be successful. However, please check from time to time during office hours between 8:00am to 5:00pm for availability of slots.




When should I renew my passport?


It is advisable to renew your passport at least 9 months before its expiration to avoid unexpected problems. We also advise booking your appointment one (1) year before your current passport's expiration.




What is the dress code for passport renewal?


Applicants are advised to dress appropriately at all times. The Embassy is the symbol of our country and we must treat it and its premises with due respect. Tank tops or sleeveless shirts are prohibited. Earrings, necklaces, contact lenses and hair accessories should be removed when your passport photo is taken during the encoding portion of your application.




Is there a rush application for passport renewal?


Rush or express services are not available overseas as the physical passports are made in the Philippines and shipped to the Posts. The Embassy has no control over the production of your passport, thus, the minimum expected availability of your passport is one (1) month after successful application.




How long is the passport renewal process?


The waiting time for the renewal process depends on the number of applicants the Embassy receives that day. Please allocate 1-2 hours of your day for the whole process. After successful application of passport renewal, the minimum expected availability of passport is one (1) month after the application.





VISA & CITIZENSHIP

My residence visa was issued in Dubai, can I file my application in the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi?


No. Applicant with residence visas issued in Dubai and the Northern Emirates can file their visa applications at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.




Who are qualified for Temporary Resident Visas (TRV)?


An alien spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old of any Philippine citizen may apply for a TRV.




What is the validity of my TRV Visa?


A TRV is valid for a probationary period of one (1) year. Thereafter, it may be extended for two (2) years.




What are the benefits of a TRV holder?


Once you have this visa you may: 1. Be employed in the Philippines 2. Lease real property in the Philippines 3. Own personal property in the Philippines 4. Qualify for Philippine citizenship, after residence of five years.




My child holds a foreign passport and will travel with my Filipino wife/husband, do I need to apply for a Philippine visa for my child?


Yes, you need to apply for a Philippine visa even if one of the parents is a Filipino. However, if your country is included in the list of no visa-required entry (please refer to the list given on the other page), you can proceed to the Philippines.




I am holding a Travel Document, how long it will take to process my visa application?


The processing of visa applications for applicants holding Travel Documents will take one (1) month or more.




I plan to extend my visit beyond the authorized period in the Philippines, what will I do?


In case of a temporary visitor's visa-holder whose stay in the Philippines will exceed the authorized period of stay, he/she will have to report to the Bureau of Immigration, secure an extension of stay and pay the corresponding immigration fees. Scheduling of Wedding


Prior the scheduling of wedding you should submit all necessary requirements to apply for a Marriage License. A marriage bann or announcement of the marriage will be posted at the premises of the Philippine Embassy for fifteen (15) consecutive working days, after which, the parties may get their Marriage License. The schedule may depend upon the availability of slots.




What is Report of Marriage?


Report of Marriage is for a Filipino national/s whose marriage was not solemnized in the Philippine Embassy or if Marriage of a Filipino national/s solemnized at Court, Church, Embassy or Consulate of the foreign spouse within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi recognized by the UAE Government. A Report of Marriage should be filed at the Philippine Embassy if they want their marriage to be acknowledged in the Philippines.




Do I need the Report of Marriage if my marriage was solemnized at the Philippine Embassy?


No, the Marriage Contract that you signed during the wedding will suffice.




Can I have my marriage solemnized at the Philippine Embassy if I am marrying a foreign national?


No, only marriages between Filipinos are solemnized at the Philippine Embassy.




My fiance cannot appear during the filing of requirements of our Marriage, can I be the only one to submit the requirements?


No, both contracting parties should appear during the filing of requirements.





NOTARIAL SERVICES

How long does it take for notarized documents be released?


For regular processing, it will take 5 working days. For express, it will take 3 working days.




How much is the payment for notarization?


AED 100 per document




Can I authorize someone to file my document?


No, personal appearance of the applicant is required.




Can I authorize someone to claim my document upon release?


Yes, as long as you provide a signed authorization letter for the authorized person together with a copy of their valid ID.




What time can I process my document/s for notarization?


Document/s may be filed from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.




What time can I claim my document/s?


Document/s may be claimed on the releasing day indicated on your receipt from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.




My family will be visiting me here in Abu Dhabi under my sponsorship. Do I need to apply for Affidavit of Support and Guarantee?


Yes. Affidavit of Support and Guarantee is required by the Bureau of Immigration for sponsored-travel.




May I apply the Affidavit of Support and Guarantee through a travel agency or any other third party?


No, the Affidavit of Support and Guarantee can only be applied personally by the sponsor at the Embassy. It can only be issued by the Embassy.




My document needs to be authenticated by the Philippine Embassy , what are the requirements?


Any official document issued in the Philippines that will be used abroad should be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines before the authentication by the Philippine Embassy. Authentication (link)




My document issued here in the UAE requires an attestation from the Philippine embassy, what are the requirements?


Any official document issued in the UAE that will be used in the Philippines should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in the UAE before the attestation by the Philippine Embassy. Attestation (link)
